DriveOhio is a collaboration between government, research and private industry partners to build Ohio's infrastructure for smart mobility and to facilitate smart mobility innovations.
Since 2011, Ohio has invested $14 billion in infrastructure projects, making the state’s roads and highways among the most “autonomous ready” in the country.
Ohio's public and private sectors have already invested more than $500 million in the development and testing of autonomous and connected vehicle technologies.
Smart mobility projects covering 164 miles of roadway are currently under construction.
Projects across Ohio support the testing of autonomous and connected vehicles and the deployment of smart mobility technologies.
A 35-mile stretch of U.S. 33 in Ohio between Dublin and East Liberty through Marysville serving as a real-world proving ground for autonomous and connected vehicles.

This project in Southeast Ohio will deploy automated transportation solutions focused on Ohio’s rural roads.
"Automated Driving Systems: SE Ohio"
This project will deploy smart logistics solutions along a stretch of I-70 between Columbus, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana.
"I-70 Truck Automation Corridor"
This new ground-based sense-and-avoid radar system gives the unique capability of flying drones beyond an operator’s visual line of sight.
Enhancing mobility, improving safety and integrating technology into a modern and efficient multi-modal transportation system in the heart of the Mahoning Valley region.
"Youngstown SMART2 Network"
On a nine-mile stretch between downtown Columbus and Columbus Airport, the eastbound shoulder turns into a lane drivers may use during peak traffic.
The SMARTCenter, a state-of-the-art automated and connected vehicle testing facility within the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio, is designed to test automated vehicles and smart mobility.
