Ohio Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Plan

The Ohio Department of Transportation and DriveOhio are developing a statewide EV infrastructure plan to ease range anxiety, support private sector investment and spur economic development.

This page provides background, funding details, and program guidance for the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure program established in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) of 2021. The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will provide Ohio $140 million over five years for Direct Current (DC) Fast chargers along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. Interstate corridors will be the focus for the first year of program funds. In addition to formula funds, two discretionary grant programs will be available in the future.

  • Nominations for additional Alternative Fuel Corridors due May 13, 2022
  • EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan due August 1, 2022
  • Federal Highway Administration to approve plan by September 30, 2022
